Touring Croatia - Part 3

After landing in Zagreb, the capital city of Croatia, Dries spotted our bus and we chose the best seats in the house.

We booked in to the Four Points Panorama Hotel at noon and just had time for a quick shower before meeting up with our local tour guide to explore the city.

Dressed and waiting on the terrace of the hotel for the rest of the group.

We had an amazing tour guide and learnt that Zagreb with a population of almost 5 million people has a university with roughly 60 000 students.  All trams and buses used for public transport are painted blue - the color of Zagreb and its sports teams.  Due to the lack of buildings different schools are in 2 shifts using the same buildings. One school will be from 8 am to 1 pm and the next from 2 pm until 7 pm.

This amazing building is the opera house/theater.

Due to most of the building built using limestone, graffiti is a huge problem in this country.  I still think they are better off than having crime as a huge problem!

This was the very first church we visited and the photo speaks for itself.
