Onion peels

I frequent the internet in search of new or pretty free motion quilting motifs and I constantly save ideas (not that I can always find them again) but in the last year or so I can barely recall a motif that I’ve seen as brand-spanking,-never-seen-before-new, until I saw Onion peels.

Now this was not meant as an overall filler but rather something you’d do in sashings and I just knew I had to practise this to have it absolutely ingrained in my muscle memory.

So I got out some scrap (non-cotton) fabric and decided to practise and afterwards it could be used as a doggie blanket at some shelter.  Needless to say, I think I practised this one enough, never to forget it.
